The war in Syria has caused 1.5 million people to seek refuge in Lebanon’s camps. Many live in homes or other shelters that are in urgent need of repairs. Habitat for Humanity seeks to improve the living conditions for refugees in Lebanon. We look at the progress of our work in the Wavel (Bekaa Valley), Bourj Hammoud and Shatila refugee camps in Lebanon where the Syrian families we’ve supported live. SUBSCRIBE for more stories from our volunteers and our work to bring safe, decent homes to the most vulnerable worldwide.

ABOUT OUR CHARITY
One in five people across the world live in slums and substandard housing, locking them into a grinding cycle of poverty. This lack of housing negatively affects their health and well-being, educational prospects, and ability to make a living. Habitat for Humanity’s vision is a world where everyone has a safe place to call home. We believe that a decent home helps to permanently break the cycle of poverty and allows families to achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance.
