About me

Consultant and Researcher, PhD candidate in Urban Development, Architect and Urban Planner

Raquel manages the knowledge mobilization platform SueloUrbano.org, the Latin American and Caribbean gateway of two initiatives of Habitat for Humanity: (1) Solid Ground, a global advocacy campaign to improve access to land for shelter; and (2) the Urban CSO Cluster, part of the Global Land Tools Network – GLTN / UN-HABITAT. Raquel has also worked in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects supported by UK-AID / DFID, Open Society Foundation, British Council and the Brazilian Federal Land Administration.Independent consultant and PhD candidate, Raquel holds a M.A. in Urban Development, and a B.A. in Architecture and Urban Planning. Working mainly in Latin America, she has experience with policies and tools for land regularization and slum upgrading, and with advocacy and capacity development, particularly related to the right to the city and the social function of land, from a gender-sensitive perspective. Her PhD research is on knowledge production from the Global South, focusing on emerging alternatives for the (de)colonization of planning theory.

I´m interested in being part of the Community because...

Tengo interés en apoyar la gestión colaborativa de conocimiento, la sistematización de experiencias y en mejorías en el flujo de información entre prática y conocimiento.
